ION Partners with Pax World to Promote Gender Equality on Corporate Boards
Strategic Partnership with Investment Advisor Supports Diversity Initiatives, Empowers Women
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – November 17, 2010 – The InterOrganization Network (ION) has entered into a strategic partnership with Pax World Management LLC, investment adviser to Pax World Funds. ION President Charlotte Laurent-Ottomane has been appointed to the Pax Women's Advisory Council and Pax World President and CEO Joe Keefe has joined ION's Advisory Council. The partnership seeks to increase women's representation on boards of directors and promote gender equality as an investment concept through networking events, educational seminars and articles.
"This new partnership will be a tremendous asset for both organizations," said ION President Charlotte Laurent-Ottomane. "ION reaches more than 10,000 women across the U.S. I'm confident we can provide benefits to these women by working with Pax World to promote gender equality and to increase the number of accomplished women in the corporate boardroom."
Going forward, ION and Pax World will collaborate to connect, empower and inspire professional women through gender diversity initiatives. In 2010, ION enhanced its outreach with several initiatives, including a second comment letter to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the launch of a quarterly newsletter. ION has also named several new board members as sitting members' terms expire. Pax World continues to promote gender equality through its family of mutual funds, including the Pax World Global Women's Equality Fund (PXWEX), the only mutual fund in America that focuses on investing in companies around the world that are leaders in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace and beyond.
"At Pax World, we see gender equality as an investment concept," said Pax World President and CEO Joe Keefe. "The smartest companies in the world, in our view, are those that empower and advance women, and we want to invest in those companies."
The InterOrganization Network (www.ionwomen.org) is a national nonprofit organization representing more than 10,000 women dedicated to increasing representation of women on for-profit boards and in executive suites. ION creates a national voice for its 14 regional member organizations to influence, build awareness and expand opportunities and connections. ION's founding sponsor is KPMG LLP, the audit, tax and advisory firm and U.S. member firm of KPMG International Cooperative ("KPMG International"). KPMG International's member firms have 137,000 professionals, including more than 7,600 partners in 144 countries.
